In 2003, Bulgaria signed the Hague Convention on Protection of Children and Co-operation in Respect of Intercountry Adoption from 1993.

The International Legal Protection of Children and International Adoptions Directorate was established as a central authority at the Bulgaria Ministry of Justice. In compliance with the requirements of the Hague Convention, the Directorate oversees and controls the activities related to international adoptions.

“The Little Prince” is one of the first organizations which received a license from the Ministry of Justice enabling it to mediate in international adoptions as a fully accredited organization.

License No. 25/27.05.2004 for mediation in international adoptions involving the countries France and Italy.

License No. 80/ 28.06.2006 for mediation in international adoptions involving the countries France and Italy.

License No. 119 / 15.03.2010 for mediation in international adoptions involving the countries France and Italy.

License No. 119 / 17.06.2014 for mediation in international adoptions involving the countries USA, Canada, Germany, Greece.

License No. 140 / 11.05.2015 for mediation in international adoptions involving the countries France, Italy, USA, Canada, Germany, Greece.

License No. 189 / 05.05.2020 for mediation in international adoptions involving the countries Italy, USA, France.
